Apple Urges EU to Reconsider Digital Markets Act, Citing Innovation Constraints
Apple has formally challenged the European Union's Digital Markets Act, arguing the legislation stifles its ability to deliver full service capabilities to EU customers. The tech giant claims interoperability requirements create technical hurdles, delaying features like iPhone Mirroring and AirPods' Live Translation in the region.
During the European Commission's DMA review, Apple proposed either repealing the law or replacing it with tech-friendly legislation. 'The DMA forces us to prioritize compatibility with rival products over innovation,' the company stated, emphasizing conflicts between regulatory mandates and user privacy protections.
